Aims of the PT scheme
Target group of participants The scheme has been designed to mirror a Law Enforcement Digital Forensics submission. As such, participants should primarily be Law Enforcement within the United Kingdom (UK). However, participants can also include non-Law Enforcement agencies which either supply services to Law Enforcement or carry out similar testing activities. Participants outside of the UK are considered, however the participant should be aware that dataset specifications are UK centric, and the language is English (United Kingdom). The scheme is intended for Digital Forensic Laboratories which hold, or are planning to achieve, ISO17025 accreditation in relation to the processing and analysis of Computer-based devices. Participants must be a Digital Forensics Laboratory or similarly named forensic unit undertaking Digital Forensic Examination of computer devices. The laboratory must operate methods for processing and analysis of computer-based devices, using industry tools.
