Remarks Toys may contain poisonous substances. Particularly for children this poses a risk because toys and its components can be put in the mouth. The risk for the exposion of harmful substances is particularly large. The specific migration limits for the different types of toys are set by a European Guideline. This proficiency testing is directed to all laboratories which test toys of type 3 (scrapped-off materials). A material of this kind is tested in this proficiency testing concerning the announced substances. Toys may contain undesirable substances. Particularly for children this poses a risk because toys and its components are explored with all senses. The colourfastness of toys is not desired and only allowed to a certain extent. This PT scheme enables the participating laboratories to test and prove the comparability of the own method.
