Remarks Allergen-PTs (qualitative / quantitative with z-scores and recovery rates) - Accredited Programs - The PROCESS of PT rounds ptAL01 - 09 + ptAL12 - 13 (with 3 Samples A+B and RS): Test items: 2 different food matrix samples A + B (25 g each) + 1 recovery reference sample RS (15 g) Methods: All suitable methods can be applied, e.g. ELISA, LFD, PCR, LC-MS. Procedure: Two samples, like instant soup powder, cookies, chocolate or boiled sausage are provided for qualitative and quantitative determination of the respective allergens. One of these samples contains the spiked or incurred allergen(s). The third "recovery reference sample" (formerly "spiking level sample") contains the same allergens in rice flour (formerly potato powder) as a simple matrix without further processing in similar amounts. Evaluation: The evaluation is carried out qualitatively (positive/negative) and quantitative. Quantitative statistics with z-scores will be done with the target values from the consensus values of participants' results (≥ 5 results) and from the known gravimetrically spiked values. Whenever possible as per statistical verification, a collective consensus value is calculated from all participants' results, regardless of the analytical test kit used (joint evaluation). Additionally individual consensus values are applied for the results of each ELISA kit brand in separate evaluations for ≥ 5 results. Moreover the recovery rate of the "positive" matrix sample and the "recovery reference sample" is calculated including z-scores for every single quantitative result, which enables the participants to proof the capability of their methods.
