| Remarks | For certificates to be issued, all participants are expected to report (semi-) quantitative results along with qualitative results on the evaluation sheets, where requested. A certificate for (semi-)quantitative results, however, can only be issued if the reported results are sufficiently comparable and if an international standard has been established for diagnostics. The interdisciplinary, non-profit, scientific and medical association INSTAND e. V. is a reference institution for the quality control of medical laboratories. It is one of four German reference institutions responsible for the organization of external quality assessment (EQA) schemes for quality control in medical laboratories.
