Remarks In the sensible field of baby food beside the analysis of specific microorganisms the identification of unknown and variable germs is also very important. Therefore the present PT scheme was developed and established. The microbiological PT schemes in the field of baby food take place in cooperation. The parameters and the number of samples vary and undergo annual changes. All relevant parameters in the field of baby food will be analysed in the scope of parameter rotation. Bifidobacteria belong to the healthy bacteria of probiotics and mainly colonise the human colon. These bacteria encourage as nutritional supplement the digestion and the immune system what is especially relevant for babies and infants in baby food. his PT scheme was exclusively developed during the cooperation in the field of baby food for the use of the BacTrac method. This is an automated quick test system (impedance) for the compete spectrum of the microbiological routine diagnostics. With the proficiency testing round milk powder IMF 1 and 2 the comparability of the chemical-physical testing of infant formula of essential nutrients can be assessed. On the one hand energy-providing nutrients as well as vitamins, minerals and trace elements are considered in the proficiency testing round which play an important role for the development of children.
