Remarks Tattoo inks are suspected to have a negative influence on human beings health. Single preservatives play an important role concerning this assessment. This proficiency testing scheme was designed to enable the participants to show the comparability in the analysis of BIT in tattoo inks. Tattoo inks are suspected to have a negative influence on human beings health. Azo dyes which may set aromatic amines free play an important role concerning this assessment. This proficiency testing scheme was designed to enable the participants to show the comparability in the analysis of aromatic amines in tattoo. Tattoo inks are suspected to have a negative influence on human beings health. Nickel very often causes contact allergies. Many people are sensitive towards nickel. Nevertheless tattoo inks not seldom contain Nickel. This proficiency testing scheme was designed to enable the participants to show the comparability in the analysis of this metal in tattoo inks. In contrast to cosmetic products, tattoo inks are not controlled especially concerning the sterility of products and microbiological analyses. . These PT scheme was specially developed because a lot of tattoo inks are highly contaminated with microorganisms that could be dangerous for the consumer.
